Farmers from 14 districts of Moldova will receive grants to purchase irrigation equipment. In total, 26 agricultural producers will benefit from support under programs implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry through UCIP IFAD Moldova, with the support of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

Each beneficiary will be able to receive up to USD 7,500 for the purchase of modern irrigation systems. The program aims to increase productivity and reduce the impact of drought.

The districts include: Ialoveni, Cimișlia, Cantemir, Leova, Orhei, Cahul, Dondușeni, Florești, Hîncești, Rezina, Șoldănești, Ungheni, Căușeni, and Călărași.

Farmers are engaged in growing grapes, vegetables, and maintaining orchards (cherry, plum, apricot, walnut, peach, sea buckthorn, hazelnut).

The procured equipment includes modern drip irrigation and micro-sprinkling systems, enabling efficient water use and improving agricultural resilience to climate change.

Program participants may also receive free assistance in preparing documents and business plans.
